As you create the perfect Oregon Itinerary, you may consider whether or not you want to spend that time along the coast or focus on the National Parks throughout the state. If you\u2019re in a Campervan, similar to our Travellers Autobarn Kuga Campervan, then look no further because I have the absolutely perfect Oregon Coast itinerary in a campervan below.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2376 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/askrobackyard.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/haystackoregon-1024x768pp_w768_h576.jpg\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/askrobackyard.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/haystackoregon-1024x768pp_w768_h576.jpg\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>Oregon\u2019s Coast stretches for over 360 miles, located between California and Washington state. Highway 101, otherwise known as the Oregon Coast Highway, takes you along miles of shoreline and trailheads. You zig zag among beach towns, to find yourself among the redwoods. You\u2019ll truly be amazed at the diverse landscape you\u2019ll find yourself driving among. You\u2019ll want plenty of time to pull over and enjoy the scenery. Unless you have more than 7 days along this beautiful Oregon coast, you\u2019ll want to divide your time to give enough space to enjoy the towns, take a hike or have a beach day.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Oregon coast is the perfect road trip to enjoy the van life. You\u2019ll find many RV resorts along the drive. Ensure you book the RV resort of your choice well before your trip as this is a popular destination. It happens to be the oldest city in Oregon, named after an American Fur Company founded at Fort Astoria in the nineteenth century. It\u2019s also where the home was located in the movie \u2018The Goonies\u2019. You can even find puffins inhabiting Cannon Beach, around the Spring. Cannon Beach is one of the places along this itinerary that you do not want to miss. It\u2019s home to sea caves, lighthouses, hiking and so much more.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Walk along Cannon Beach to see Haystack Rock and possibly tufted puffins<\/li>\n<li>Visit Ecola State Park, where you can walk along the beaches, catch a glimpse of Roosevelt elk in the rainforest or hike a few of the trails.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>See the tidepools and sea caves<\/li>\n<li>Eat at one of the many restaurants and enjoy some of the best seafood!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Tip: If you enjoy cheese and other dairy products, don\u2019t miss Tillamook! However, as we arrived, we knew we\u2019d be occupying this area much longer than just a few hours. There isn\u2019t much activity, especially during the late Summer months but you can find those that love the area still around to enjoy the town.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Park along the beach parking lot, near Pelican Brewing Company and enjoy the view<\/li>\n<li>Walk the massive sand dunes in Cape Kiwanda<\/li>\n<li>Have a bonfire on the beach at sunset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Tip: Enjoying any of the views along the Oregon coastline is made easy when renting a campervan! Bandon is known for its beaches and rock formations, known as sea stacks. It has some of the warmest temperatures on the coastline and is extremely close to the redwoods. It\u2019s also considered the home to the beautiful Samuel H. Boardman Corridor. My recommendations for Brookings entails spending time along the corridor. Leave at least 2 days for this area as there is so much to see.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hike to the Natural Bridges at sunset<\/li>\n<li>Visit Secret Beach<\/li>\n<li>Enjoy a picnic at the Arch rock overview<\/li>\n<li>Stroll Whaleshead Beach<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you pick up your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.travellers-autobarnrv.com\/rv-rental-locations-usa\/san-francisco\/\">Travellers Autobarn Kuga Campervan in the San Francisco<\/a>\u00a0area, similar to us, check out Muir Woods along the way or add on a stop at a winery in Sonoma County.
